Curriculum & Assessment
At West Blatchington Primary & Nursery School we create a learning ethos where all children are actively involved in engaging and stimulating learning experiences to enable them to develop, achieve and flourish.
We aspire to create lifelong, reflective learners who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and understanding that they need to make informed choices throughout their lives. We believe that having a secure knowledge of the pupils' current attainment is essential in aiding future progress. Learning is continually assessed to ensure that the learning provided builds on the children's existing knowledge and understanding.
We use the National Curriculum and a mastery approach to add depth of understanding and to provide greater opportunities for children to apply their learning. Teachers create detailed plans which outline the key learning activities, resources and assessment opportunities.
